For some time now I've been thinking about training for a Sprint Triathlon. Yep, you read right. I may go from the long haired runner to the long haired triathlete!
When I set my mind and heart on something I can't seem to think about anything else. I tend to read and research all I can to help me along the way.
I signed up on beginnertriathlete.com and found some really great training plans! I'm aiming for a sprint triathlon in October. (Around my 27th birthday)
That gives me about 6 months to train.
I have the running part down but I have quite a bit to learn about swimming and biking.
I'm a bit nervous about the swim but excited just the same! I REALLY hope I don't get punched or kicked in the face but I'm sure I'll live to tell about it.
If anyone has any advice or suggestions for some blogs or websites to help me out let me know! I'd really appreciate it!
What are your thoughts on triathlons?
Wow, I'm sure you'll rock it! Triathlons seem so intimidating to me so I definitely look forward to reading about your training :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm pretty intimidated myself but I'll just listen to Katy Perry's "Roar" the entire time I'm training and I'll be so motivated Haha
DeleteYou are awesome! Like a full tri!? I want to complete one one day but I had a hard time with the marathon training being a lot for me to handle! plus I can't swim the "right" way yet. I'm so excited for you and can't wait to hear all about your training and stuff!
ReplyDeleteA Sprint Triathlon is a half mile swim, 13 mile bike and a 3.2 mile run. There's also mini sprint's that are shorter so depending on how my training goes I could always start with a mini. Which is tempting because I seem to be pretty injury prone! I just started swimming the "right" way last summer and I really want to find a seasoned swimmer to give me some pointers. I'm a bit intimidated but pumped at the same time!
